Our Story
At Kitchen King Dairy, a subsidiary of Pari Foods Inc., we aim to make fresh, pure, and quality dairy products like Paneer that are convenient and easy to buy.
Growing up in north India in his early years, Shalok Sachdeva, was blessed to be living in a farmhouse with an inhouse cowshed, When he woke up in the morning, he would see his gardener feed grass and water to the cows. He would be fascinated to watch them milk the teats of the cow’s udder. He would sit with them just to get a taste of raw milk. The milk in big steel containers would then be transported to their home kitchen where the cook would boil it. Some was used for drinking, some to make yogurt and the extra milk would be turned into Paneer.
The daily childhood ritual of going to their in-house cowshed turned into an opportunity for discovery and delicious surprises. Savouring the softest homemade Paneer in curries and snacks while enjoying family meals was the epitome of love and comfort for him. Paneer Pakora (fritters) were his favourite.
When he migrated to the U.S., he found that most of the Paneer in the US was mass-produced. It was hard, chewy and lacked the authentic milky flavour. The Paneer at restaurants and social gatherings had the same problem. He was disheartened and found himself yearning for the same taste of dairy particularly Paneer that he ate while growing up. There was a clear gap in the market, and it was time to make better Paneer. With a pedigree of a family-owned food business, he started questioning his parents and brainstorming solutions to be able to get the same soft and flavourful homemade Paneer (without the synthetic additives) for the South Asian Community in the US.
This is how Kitchen King Paneer came into being helping him set his path in the food world. The response and demand have been overwhelming since the launch. Kitchen King Paneer is now available in select Indian Grocery Stores and Restaurants in the United States.
